Some Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is Bombshell!?

Bombshell! is many things. It is a celebration of funny, talented, sexy, beautiful women. Bombshell! is a bit of stand up comedy, a bit of a lingerie exhibition, a bit artsy, a bit sexy and a whole lot of fun! Bombshell is an attitude - not a look! Bombshell! is empowering! Bombshell! is provocative! Bombshell! is sexy! Bombshell! is funny! Bombshell! is unforgettable!!!

Why was Bombshell! started?

There is a lack of opportunity at most big comedy clubs for women. It's that simple. Women in the bay area were sick of watching the "token" woman in the worst time slot on stage and decided to do something about it. We know how popular all female showcases are, and voila! Bombshell! was created.

Are you saying women have to take off their clothes to get attention?

No! Of course not! We want to show the world that comedy - comediennes in particular - can be sexy as well as funny. AT THE SAME TIME! Sexy is defined by each individual and is unique within all of us. We are onstage having fun in the lingerie/costumes and we hope the audience is having as much fun as we are. We challenge women to find that balance of sexiness in everything they do and feel confident in themselves and their sexiness, regardless of shape, color or age. The urge for us to use our sexiness as a way to complement our sense of humor were overwhelming Why do we do it??? Why not!!!!! Our intention is not to degrade women or say that the only way we can fill an audience is to wear risque clothing. Our intention is to empower women. To create a paradigm shift in the way the world views female comics or comedy in general. We can try to be a bunch of pretty women, but it takes more than pretty to be sexy. Sexy includes confidence and substance, something every single one of the Bombshell! comics has. Something we hope the audience sees and leaves with a whole new attitude about themselves or the way they view what sexy is. You will come to the show and see confident and funny women and you will remember how they made you laugh, and not necessarily the way they look in sexy clothing. Public Speaking experts would help you resolve your fear of public speaking by telling you to imagine the audience in their underwear - we are just putting a new twist on that thought.
